Overton Index Online

Join us for a session on Overton Index, the world’s largest collection of policy documents, parliamentary transcripts, government guidance and think tank research.

You can search policy from specific regions, countries or source types, and the filter options allow you to view policy that cites research from a particular university, think tank, or individual researcher. This makes it a valuable resource for researchers and anyone interested in the impact of our research here at Newcastle.

Overton also helps you measure your own influence on government policy, both locally and internationally. If you fund, publish or produce research, Overton can show you where it has been cited in policy worldwide. 

This session will be led by colleagues from Overton, who will demonstrate the key features of the database, effective use of Overton as a tool for research and measuring impact. It will be of particular interest to academic colleagues, professional services colleagues, and researchers involved in policy research and research impact.
